What do we do? We find neglected homes and transform them ourselves.
Where others see a disaster, we see potential. We dream spaces to reality through thousands of design decisions and hand-building every aspect—from tiling to custom millwork and furniture to the homemade art on the walls.
Our style, “Colorado Cool,” blends earthy tones, natural textures, modern lines, and a touch of vintage charm. We preserve original elements that give a home its personality and choose materials that age gracefully, creating warm, timeless spaces.
We pour our hearts into every detail, and the result is a Day House—a home full of character, craftsmanship, and soul.

Day House’s humble beginnings consisted of weekend DIY projects in our first home together. We renovated every room, some twice, and one three times (let’s call it research). After a few years of this, in June 2020 (yes, during the early days of the pandemic) we decided to turn our passion into a full-time gig.
With Joy’s background in architecture and structural engineering, and Tell’s skills across the electrical, machining, and mechanical trades, we designed and renovated several spaces for clients throughout Boulder County, Colorado. After a few years of that, we felt the itch to get into real estate.
In 2024, we found a dated, smoked-in house and turned it into a bespoke home, Oak Way. We enjoyed being the owners, clients, designers, and builders all at once. There’s little as fulfilling as building something with your own hands and stepping back to admire it. We loved it so much that we’re doing it again in 2025 at Montana Ave!
When we’re not swinging a hammer, we’re enjoying mini-retirements in our camper with all of our rescued fur babies—the loves of our lives, besides each other, of course ☺
